Viking wood carving table project

This is my first ever wood carving project. So i will be learning by doing. So everything that i do is new to me. Some stuf is not unfamiliar as i work sometimes with carpentry. Mostly at wome on improvement projects. Me and my wife recently bought a new house. And we have two living rooms. One is in the basement and one in the second floor. Basically i want to turn my basement living room in to something a bit old school. Some new, but the table that is going to be in the middle is going to be something self made. With carved out sides. In solid and thick wood glued together. More details will come when the work has started.

Me practising on a wood piece. But it gives an idea on what type of stuf that will come on the table.
